Melodic Monday’s

image

This track is a bit more upbeat
then some of the other songs posted on Melodic Monday’s but the melody is still very entrancing. Ari Lennox’s lyrics take you in and wrap around you like a glove. As of 2015 the very talented Ms. Lennox was signed to J. Cole’s label Dreamville and she’s from my hometown ( Washington, DC) , which is pretty dope.

Big ups and congratulations Ari, our ears are definitely waiting  to hear more of what’s to come.

Enygma

image

Growing up in a military family Enygma was exposed to the world and different cultures fairly early in her life. With the support of her parents and doing some of her schooling in a home environment Enygma was able to refine her creativity through music, writing, painting, etc. Additional education led her to learn instruments and have vocal coaching , which has proved to be very beneficial for the very talented songstress.

The road for Enygma hasn’t always been so smooth though as with most of us who have a dream, there are highs and lows. She had been offered a deal at the age of 17 but felt like it just wasn’t the right time. However, with the wisdom of saying no and her recent trip to Mexico she was enlightened and came back with a new perspective and ready to give what she loves another try. Most recently she has released her single Bent and is set to release Eargasm( the Mixtape) Feb. 2.

To connect with Ms. Enygma you can follow her on Instagram and also check her out on Soundcloud. In the meantime click the link and vibe with Bent by Enygma.

Soundz OF RNB

I’m a huge fan of R&B music and when the opportunity came to write about this group I jumped at the chance. The once duo has just recently added a new member completing their group and giving Soundz of RNB and even finer tune. Each solo member has been singing for quite some time and all have the singing chops we have grown accustomed to when listening to R&B music.

Soundz OF RNB’s mission is “To revive the popularity of R&B music, while adding a Hip-Hop edge.” There latest release No Luv Lost is out now and available on all music outlets. The group has a few shows lined up this month:  January 21st in Atlanta, Georgia @Suede Lounge, January  25th the Hip Hop seazon showcase in Queens, NY and January 29th @ the Culture Coffee Shop in NW DC. If you’re in any of those areas be sure to stop by and check them out. Soundz of RNB are driven and talented which is needed in this industry. My ears are open to hear what’s next!!!!!

To connect with the trio you can find them on Facebook , Soundcloud and Instagram. You can also connect with Soundz OF RNB on their Official Website

Soulful Sunday’s

I know I may be a bit late when it comes to this artist but then again you can never be too late when it comes to discovering new music. I heard Loner by Kali Uchis just yesterday and it’s one of those songs that a lot of us can relate to. I mean honestly who wants to be used and tossed aside for the next hot thing. Most of us have been at that place where it’s like I’d rather stay to myself then deal with the pain and Kali expresses that emotion honestly. Press Play and I’m sure you to will be singing along with Kali.

Music & Me

I’m just a girl who fell in love with rhtyms and beats. Who became engrossed in sweet melodies and whisked away in harmonies. Yep that’s me!!! From the first time I heard Aretha Franklin being played while my aunt was cleaning to hearing Michael Jackson sing I want to Be where you are, I was in love and his name was music.

Here’s a quick letter I wrote to the love of my life!!!

I can never find the words to say to describe you. You came into my life at a time when I felt like I had no one. The first time I heard you tell a story it amazed me how melodic your tone was and how you didn’t judge me. You seemed to except me for me. And that’s when I fell in love. I fell madly in love and it was the best decision I could’ve ever made. No regrets no taking it back. I give you me no holds bar. I use to wish I could marry you and live in happily ever after but I know I would have to share that’s just how special you are. You’ve made others like me fall in love too. Because of that I can’t be selfish for we all need you. Forever will I love you for you’ve shown me who I am. To simply put it I found me through you and I’m hopeful for our future.

Lyrically Yours….
